We provide a number of projects and services in support of the community and act as a liaison on behalf of Residents to a variety of agencies.How are you funded?
The Drop In Centre is funded by Residents through their service charges, Avian Communtiy Business Ltd. and the Drop In Centre Development Trust as well as grants received from various funders. For more information on our funding partners, please go to our Partners page.
Are you part of Newydd Housing Association?
No. The Drop In Centre is an independent organisation, however we do work closely with the landlords on a number of projects and activities.When was the Drop In Centre established?
The Drop In Centre was originally established in 1999 by Newydd Housing Association. The Centre was transferred to community ownership in 2004 and became a registered charity in June 2009.What kind of projects and activities do you provide?
We provide community projects and activities, training and a range of support services.
How many people do you employ?
We currently employ 3 core staff, however the Drop In Centre relies on support for much of our work from community volunteers who support paid staff in the delivery of all services.

I have an idea for a project, would you be able to help?
Yes. We welcome the opportunity to work with Residents and others on any idea, and can provide advice and support on funding, developing and running your project. We are also able to put you in touch with any other relevant organisation(s) to help take your idea forward.How much do you charge for your services?
We do not charge for core services (training, advice, computer/Internet usage, tenant support, emergency phone use) however some projects and activities may charge a nominal fee for entry.Do you have to live on Thompson Street Estate to use the centre or it's services?
No.
What are your opening hours?
The Drop In Centre is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We are currently closed on weekends.
